A Wednesday It was a regular week, revising my notes for my upcoming 4 papers the following 2 weeks. I felt something furry near my face this morning. I opened my eyes and there she was, trying to get up on my bed. Since Kuddles and Midnight made our room a room for 4, I had a rule. They could take a stroll under my bed, through my shoe boxes, behind my computer, sleeping in my craft cabinet.. all but one place: my precious bed with yellow bed sheet with hearts of it. Sometimes, I think they do it for attention- when they are hungry and both of us are asleep and they don't know where the bottle of milk is. This morning, I opened my eyes and saw a black furry ball. "oh boy, midnight... nt now" I have to be glad this was after 7.30. Sometimes she would give me a surprise at 6.30. Half asleep, I put her back on the floor. After many unsuccessful attempts, she finally gave up and went back to the other side of the room. lol My morning devotion time became a longer one. Kuddles waited by the bed and meowed. It was the queue for feeding time, but Suz was still asleep. The milk bottle was still on her laptop. He would have to wait a little longer till I finished my devotion. Then I laid my eyes on him. He was sitting on the floor looking up as if saying "feed me or I'll jump up". His big beady eyes, looking ever like puss in boots in "Shrek" was working. so he won. After feeding, I decided to sit down on the floor by my bed to do my devotion. He came squeezing through my arm and sat on my lap as I journal. It was quite a sight and I must admit I enjoyed it. Midnight jumped on Suz laptop (where the milk bottle was usually) but she couldn't find it. I left it on my table. lol h*hh* [something they typed while dancing on my keyboard- thought I'll just leave it here] Now both of them are looking for the bottle on my table, but it's out in the kitchen. lol Story of yesterday. Twas evening and most were asleep; so I did my laundry. I thought I was alone. While rinsing my clothes, I turned and there was Midnight sitting on the bathroom mat. She didn't do anything but just looked and watched. All I wished was I had a camera at hand. There's the challenging part as well. Like Suz calls it: It's a cycle. her msn tagline:[ pee, shit, clean, make milk, feed, play, sleep, pee, shit, clean, make milk, feed, play, sleep ] It's time consuming, sleep consuming, even money-wonder how she does it. But they are the sweetest lil things. Her babies:
Kuddles- took me 3 shots to get a decent pic of her. while 13 shots and still not get a decent pic of Midnight. He is one gentle-male cat. A gentlemen indeed. :)
Midnight- who runs at the speed of light, and rarely stays still. She's a real challenge to get a flattering shot of her. The dilemma of having to use a higher exposure without using flash and of her looking shocked if I used flash. Nevertheless, I adore her blue eyes and her spunky character- she never gives up. Both have different ways of kissing. I'm just the baby-sitter A little something I got to work on before getting out my IT notes. Great to take a short rest from digital designing to do something I am passionate about.

Inspired by "Tammy Lombardi" in using this technique for her scrappage for her daughter, Sophia. I was amazed by how this technique could be achieved simply with things we all have. It was something new, and had to try myself to see if it works. and it works. It takes minimal time with maximum results. You have to try it to believe it. Quote: "Embossing on vellum yields a lovely result. The stylus not only creates a raised image, but also lightens the color of the vellum to produce a nice, 2-tone effect"
Embossing with paper/ vellum -But I don't own any scrapbooking/ craft tools- Not to worry because all you need is: - Vellum ( sorta like a 80gm transparent tracing paper )-can be found in white or colored

-courtesy of lenispaperplace- 2. A stylus - or something similiar
3.A mouse pad (what?)-yes! u didn't read it wrong. get one with give (sponge-y kinds)
3 steps: - Using Microsoft Word, choose your fav font, size and reverse the text. (use word art)
- Place the vellum face-down on top of the mouse pad and positioned the printout over it.
- Trace the lettering with a sylus.
- not only for letterings but also with patterns (images/ stamped images)- |
